Tour Description

Following the Elbe river and the Eurovelo 7 route this cycling adventure will take you through picturesque landscapes, charming towns, and historic sites as you pedal your way from the heart of the Czech Republic to the vibrant capital of Germany. Both countries are rich in beer history for us to enjoy along the way. Staying at small brewery hotels and local inns this trip is for all cyclist and beer lovers.

Trip Itinerary

Day One - Prague

Today we gather in Prague for bike fittings and a pre-ride dinner. Prague is an amazing city with centuries of history. Our hotel in the city center is the perfect place to explore before the trip.

Day Two - Roudnice nad Labem

  • 75 Kilometers - 50 Miles

Today we ride to the small town of Roudnice nad Labem. We will be cycling along the Eurovelo 7 bicycle route which follows the Elbe river through the Czechia countryside.

Day Three - Ústí nad Labem

  • 46 Kilometers - 27 Miles

Todays ride is begins rolling through hop fields along the river. We will cycle by many small beer gardens and cafes along the water. As a special treat today we will be finishing our ride at a small brewery hotel in the heart of town.

Day Four - Bad Schandau

  • 48 Kilometers - 30 Miles

Crossing the border into Germany. Following the river through the industrial heart of Czechia we roll along the bike path into Germany and into the Saxony Swiss alps. Finishing in Bad Schandau this evening we will visit and organic brewery.

Day Five - Dresden

  • 46 Kilometers - 29 Miles

Cycling again along the Elbe we will arrive in Dresden via the grand parks and open space along the river. Tonight we will visit a brewery and celebrate the end of the first half of our ride.

Day Six - Rest Day in Dresden

Today is yours to explore, relax and take a break from the bike. If you are interested in cycling today we have a few loop ride options you are welcome to explore.

Day Seven - Riesa

  • 52 Kilometers - 32 Miles

Today we begin our ride north through German farmland and forest. We will pass windmills, castles and more on our way to the Riesa and a visit to the HammerBräu Brewery.

Day Eight - Torgau

  • 54 Kilometers - 33 Miles

As we continue along the Elbe and Eurovelo 7 we will be riding through the rolling countryside. Much of this are has changed significantly since the reunification of Germany in the early 1990s. You will see a mix of old and new as we ride closer and closer to Berlin. Tonight we will stay at another Brewery hotel.

Day Nine - Lutherstadt/Wittenberg

  • 71 Kilometers - 45 Miles

The highlight of todays ride is at the finish in Lutherstadt/Wittenberg. This is the sight of Martin Luther’s 95 Theses. These writings are part of what brought about the split from the Catholic church and the formation of the Protestant Church in Christianity. Possibly more important is another brewery hotel to spend the evening at.

Day Ten - Potsdam

  • 93 Kilometers - 58 Miles

This is our longest ride of the trip and also one of the most beautiful. If the mileage today is too much a transfer via train is possible to start or finish early. Potsdam was the home of the Prussian kings and has continued in importance to this day. Home to many palace and gardens we will have some extra time to explore in Potsdam this evening and on the morning before riding into
Berlin

Day Eleven - Berlin

  • 30 Kilmeters - 19 Miles

A short day ride today crossing into Berlin is one that is full of sites, sounds and all that makes Berlin special. We will finish our official ride at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin Mitte and have a final celebration visit to a nearby beer garden to finish off our trip. If you would like to book lodging on the last day just let us know and we can help out.

Participant Requirements

  • Must be able to cycle the distance each day.
    Must be 18 to drink beer.
